Robert Lowe Kunzig
Robert Lowe Kunzig (October 31, 1918 - February 21, 1982) was an attorney and a judge of the United States Court of Claims.
Kunzig received an A.B. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1939, and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1942. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army during World War II, from 1942 to 1946. Civilian war crimes prosecutor, U.S. Government, 1946-1947. Private practice, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1948-1969. Deputy attorney general, State of Pennsylvania, 1948-1953. Counsel, House Committee on Un-American Activities, U.S. House of Representatives, 1953-1955. Legal advisor to the chairman and executive director, Civil Aeronautics Board, Washington, DC, 1955-1958. Member, Foreign Claims Settlement Commission, Washington, DC, 1958-1961. Administrative assistant, U.S. Senator Hugh Scott, 1963-1966. Executive director, General State Authority, State of Pennsylvania, 1967-1968. Administrator, General Services Administration, 1969-1972.
Kunzig managed the U.S. Senate campaign of Senator Hugh Scott in 1964, the campaign of Arlen Specter for District Attorney of Philadelphia in 1965 and the campaign of Raymond Shafer for Governor of Pennsylvania in 1966.
Kunzig was nominated to the Court of Claims by President Richard Nixon, receiving his commission on December 2, 1971 and serving thereafter until his death.
